Who We Are

SFC contributes to sustaining social and environmental best practices through transparent, independent and objective certification of farms or groups, in accordance with the quality guidelines defined by the Sustainable Agriculture Network Standards.

Sustainable Farm Certification International, Ltda., a subsidiary of Rainforest Alliance, is the authorized Certification Body of the Sustainable Agriculture Network (SAN) responsible for making certification decisions of farms and groups that comply with the requirements set forth in the Sustainable Agriculture Standards.

Once producers receive certification for their farms, they can request authorization to use the Rainforest Alliance Certified™ seal on their products.

Man

Certification is open to all applicants who fulfill the social and environmental best practices defined in the standards established by the Sustainable Agriculture Network (SAN). Individual farms or farm groups can apply for certification.

The SAN is a coalition of leading conservation groups that links responsible farmers with conscientious consumers by means of the Rainforest Alliance Certified seal of approval. Its collective vision is based on the concept of sustainability, recognizing that the well-being of societies and ecosystems is intertwined and dependent on development that is environmentally sound, socially equitable and economically viable. The SAN develops and owns the Sustainable Agriculture Standard.

The Rainforest Alliance works to conserve biodiversity and ensure sustainable livelihoods by transforming land-use practices, business practices and consumer behavior. Companies, cooperatives and landowners that participate in its programs meet rigorous standards that conserve biodiversity and ensure sustainable livelihoods.
